Many of Renata's episodes in this story arc have been punctuated by the music she's listening to at the time. I thought I'd do a little collection of that soundtrack -- let me know if I've forgotten something!
Episode 10 is framed around the Ella Fitzgerald classic "Mack the Knife".
Episode 14 opens with Renata listening to Billie Holiday singing "Lady Sings the Blues".
In episode 14, when Sara West showed up and she and Renata are staring at each other, Renata hears "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" by Nina Simone.
Then there's several minutes of silence, also in episode 14, filled by Aretha Franklin's "Chain of Fools".
The title of episode 14 and the song that Renata is hearing through the end of the episode is "Go to Hell" by Nina Simone.
In episode 18, Renata ends up listening to the song "Strange Things Are Happening Every Day" by Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
The title of episode 18 comes from this song, and this version by Odetta is what made me use it.
